Radix premium gTLDs report of 2016 was recently compiled and shared by Radix FZC registry which took a closer look at what domain names sold at premium prices during hand-registrations.
Interestingly, 1353 premium domain names were registered and/or renewed in 2016 bringing in premium revenue of $1,771,461 for the company.
Out of all the extensions being offered by Radix registry .Store stood out by generating maximum revenue of $664,005 followed by .Online extension which pocketed $429,621 whereas .Tech did mere $252,430 in the year 2016.
We also noticed that some of top annual revenue earners were hoodies.store grossing $30,000 and it’ll be bringing same amount each year through recurring renewal. Some others are listed in the image below.
You will notice that 1.store domain name sold for one time premium price of $30,000 whereas qq.store fetched $25,000, bam.tech and top.host were sold for $15,000 each.
Radix also shared some of the key brand & influencers, who are using their premium gTLD domain names as properly developed websites for business. Hollywood.tech is being used by Sheeraz Inc. to connect celebrities & social influencers with disruptive technologies, whereas Magazine.store is being used by Meredith Corporation to sell their publications.
